How I Determine My Artistic Style.

This drawing is stylistically divergent from most of my artwork. I didn't plan for it.

(This example was pulled from today's drawings.)

I don't think about artistic style. I see no need. I care about making creative processes—and they determine the style of each piece.

I still have habits that influence style. They are not chosen to make art look a certain way, though.

I keep habits around when they make me feel well. That's it.

And you may find other styles—past artists in my work. They're there. But I didn't consciously put them there.

I'm more interested in how people create things—which approximates what they end up making.

So yea...I don't think about controlling the style of my art.

What about you? Is style something you intentionally create, or does it happen accidentally?
