Art can be quick!

Zoooom! Art can be quick—and unplanned.

Many artists take their time. They prototype before creating a finished piece. A lot of masterpieces are made like this.

I don't work like that. You don't have to either. Art is whatever you want it to be.

I believe more in my process than my art ...and that spontaneous process has allowed me to make great art!

If you love the way you make stuff... you will be a happier and more awesome-r artist!

It may take time to get there. It may even take more dedication. But you'll be able to do it... and the end result will be much more rewarding!

Favorite Materials

For quick or unplanned art I love drawing tools. Digital art, pencils, pens, or anything else I can use like one. Brush strokes do play a supporting role.

Digital art great for drawings of all types. It's my favorite because you get a "drawing feel" but it's very flexible. Every color, shape, and technique imaginable.

If you can erase, crop, cover up—or change your artwork easily it is malleable!

For me pencil on paper is easy to change. Oil paints are not so much because I am impatient. Digital is the most malleable for me... partly because I have a lot of experience with it.

Challenge yourself!!! You can work fast with any medium or level of planning. It just takes strategy and dedication!

Wasted Time/Materials?

Some artists have said we should sketch so we don't waste time or materials.

I don't waste time or money. Even if a piece isn't my best the experience helps me make more art.

A silly bad drawing of a dragon that I made!

I even make bad art for ideas at times. Everything contributes. Nothing is wasted.

Ever make unplanned artwork?
