Check out photos from an art scavenger hunt at Barrett Park!
This hunt is different
I recently wrote about how future scavenger hunts would be different. As suggested, this hunt is unlike the others.
This hunt was smaller
Some helpers and I placed about 15-20 pieces of artwork, rather than 30-50 pieces.
These scavenger hunts are usually quite a bit of work, and I was getting burnt out doing super-massive hunts, with a lot of art.
Higher quality artwork
With less of an urge to create 40 pieces of art, I was able to make higher quality drawings & paintings!
I didn't immediately announce the location of the hunt. Instead I gave pictorial, and written hints of its location.
It was near a waterfall in the woods at Barrett Park.
This golden treasure is a signed piece of art that was larger than the others. It had gold paint around the edges, kind of like a fancy frame.
I enjoyed how the wood took the gold spray paint. I think it's pretty nice...and so does the person who found it!
Barrett Park, Leominster, MA
Barrett Park, in Leominster, MA is a great place to visit! They HAVE had algae bloom problems in the pond, but adding a fountain in the center of Colburn Pond has really improved the quality of the water.
You shouldn't swim there (nor should your pets) but it's still a pretty park.
It's a great place to go walking...or find art! They have some nice trails, in the woods as well as the path around the pond.
Another great location in Central MA!
